let's get mauied

One year ago I designed a wedding suite for a friend, Becky, who got married in Maui. Yes, Maui :) Could you imagine how awesome it would be to go to Hawaii to vacation all while marrying your best friend while you were there? Pretty awesome if you ask me. In celebration of her one year anniversary, I am FINALLY posting her wedding materials. We covered it all from invitations, stickers, huggers, programs, weekend agendas, cups and more. Her colors were coral, turquoise and ivory. And the native Hawaiian pineapple was themed around her wedding, which she also gave to guests as they arrived in Maui for the week! (Not sure why some of my files are saving white, but you get the picture, hopefully!) It was such a great design experience to work with Becky and I am very honored to post these materials today.

Happy Anniversary Becky and Matt!

orange and turquoise

Orange and turquoise. I love, love these two colors together for any invitation. I have seen these colors all over the place this summer, especially in home decor accents!

clowning around

I just love this series of Circus and Clown Invitations :)

The colors make me so happy! And although I've never been the biggest fan of clowns in real life (when you are little, clowns are either AWESOME or they're NOT), this little clown makes me want to get in line and wait for the best balloon tiara a girl could ask for :)

bad-to-the-minton

I don't know about you, but I don't think I have played the game, Badminton, since I was a young lady in the 80's with tight-rolled jeans and curled bangs held up with extra-strength hairspray. Lovely image, I know. I've played lots of tennis (me = horrible at tennis) since then, but no badminton.

I was so excited to design a badminton tournament invitation recently!

What a great group of parents that got together and brainstormed a fun, graduation party, but with some flare! And what better than a tournament... because whether we admit it or not, we all like a little friendly competition now and then!

It's all in the details when it comes to parties and designs. The tournament was being hosted on a crisp green lawn overlooking Mobile Bay. The invitation was printed with a racquet pattern background and an abstract shuttlecock displaying the graduates school colors. And everyone invited to the fabulous party was asked to wear white attire! I don't know about you, but I get so excited for any party that asks to provide a particular attire, especially when it's not Halloween.

I'm sure these special guest of honors had a blast celebrating while striking a feathered shuttle over a net! I wonder who won?

What a fun surprise Jessica received from her sister, Jennifer, the week of her wedding.

Jennifer emailed me explaining that her sister had really wanted to order maps from Rice Designs, so as a wedding gift she wanted to surprise Jessica with a personalized map of her wedding weekend. Not only for a keepsake, but also to give to guests arriving in town for the ceremony.

What a kind and generous gift to give. Sweet sisters :)

a place to call home

A sweet friend of mine sent me a photo of their new home and asked that I create a Moving Card to send her new address to family and friends. How cozy does her new address look? Congratulations to the Mourons on your new place to call home :)

bbq

Who doesn't love a bar-b-que? If not for the food, definitely for the togetherness. A laid back, all American approach to celebration of family and friends. These invitations remind me of holidays, especially the fourth of July, which happens to be right around the corner! Gosh, is it almost July already?

au pair

I designed this postcard for a customer looking to attract clients with children. Amelia had a great idea of what she wanted the design to look like, but just couldn't actually design it on paper. So after an initial meeting we shared ideas and this is what we came up with.

Amelia is a temporary au pair. She will stay with your kiddos for weekends that your husband may steal you away on a surprise get-a-way or during the weeknights when you have an out-of-town conference to attend. She wanted postcards placed at gift stores, children's clothing stores and also to hand out that spoke to both the parent and child. I was very happy with the end result, as I think Amelia was as well! I know if I saw this postcard sitting on a checkout counter, I would have to pick it up and see what it was all about :)

pink is my signature color

When I was growing up, I remember going to friends' houses for play dates on summer afternoons and having the best tea parties around. From the plastic scones, fake strands of pearls decorating our necks, and the occasional dresses we snuck out of their mothers' closets, we were ready to party. What great memories of being a little girl, doing girly things and loving every minute of it!

And what's more girly than pink? As Shelby from Steel Magnolias would say, "Pink is my signature color."

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday. The sun is shining and calling our names!

fish, cats and dogs

Today we have been swimming like fish! Starting at 9:00am, swim lessons for sweet B! And oh boy, how he hates swim lessons. Even though the crying is hard to swallow, I know he will be so much better off having a few survival skills in case of emergency situations. So after swim lessons we were invited by some sweet friends to join them at the pool. So for the next three hours we swam our hearts out! Bennett just loves the pool and cannot get enough of it. I wouldn't be surprised if he grew gills this summer he loves it so much!

So in honor of our fun swimming day, what cuter invitation to show than this sweet fish one for twins, Sydney and Benjamin!

And now we are off to take naps (actually I will be doing laundry!) because it's raining cats and dogs outside. Happy Friday!

low country boil

How much fun would it be to have a low country boil for Father's Day this weekend? Sounds like a good time to me. Although I don't love shrimp, I do love a reason to get together and celebrate!

Whether it's Father's Day, a birthday, graduation, wedding shower or a farewell send-off to college, a Low Country Boil always seems to be a good way to celebrate.

sweet summertime

Summer break has been AWESOME! My little buddy keeps me busy and on-my-toes! But we are having so much fun together :)

As promised, I am going to keep the blog updated from time to time with work from this past spring. And I am so happy to share these designs with all of you. In doing custom work, there are so many opportunities to create some fun designs. If you see something you like, just remember I can revise it with colors, fonts, arrangement and symbols to make it your own. But, as a friendly reminder, I won't be coming back to work until September 2012 :)

I really like these designs for the summertime! Fun colors and fun parties!

Happy Wednesday!
